Nov. 7, 2007: The 31-year-old captain of the Jamaican netball squad has been fined $200 in New Zealand for carrying an apple in her hand luggage.ustify">Elaine Davis, according to Stuff.Co.Nz, was slapped with the fine after the fruit was discovered during a routine x-ray check of her luggage by officials of the Ministry of Agriculture’s Quarantine Service.
Davis had denied she was carrying any fruit or vegetables into the country and according to team manager, the net ball star had meant to eat the apple on the plane ride from Los Angeles but forgot about it. She has fourteen days to clear the debt. Davis is leading the "Sunshine Girls" in this weekend's netball world championships. – Hardbeatnnew.com Couldn’t they just make her eat the apple? !OBoy the laws in some countries are rough they don't joke around. |
